Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms and conditions carefully. You will be legally bound by these terms from the time you submit an entry for the “Win a Free Professionally Recorded Single” competition.


The Contest will begin at 8:00am on October 12th, 2016 and close on 11:59pm November 20th, 2016 (the competition period). Any submissions before or after this time period will not be considered for this contest. The contest is open to residents of the United States who live in the Northeast Ohio area and will be responsible for transportation to the studio. Entrants must be music artists primarily of the rock, punk or metal genre. Exceptional artists outside of these genres will be considered.

To enter, artists are required to send a press kit to MusiciansTalk@Yahoo.com to be considered. Internet access required. There is a limit of one entry only per artist/group. [Multiple entries or] entries made through agents, third parties, organised groups or any entry duplication method will not be accepted.Musicians Talk Productions reserves the right to disqualify any entrant for unprofessional or inappropriate behavior or correspondence.

Press Kits

Press Kits give our organization’s easy access to the material each band would like to be reviewed. Only what is submitted in that kit will be reviewed. The kit can be submitted in any format via email as long as the information is professional, accessible and there is correct contact information for the winner once the contest is complete.

Press Kit items:

  • Link to band’s website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Soundcloud, Bandcamp, YouTube account and/or other social media accounts
  • Short biography of band
  • Artists band has performed with
  • Links to articles about the band


The top five finalists will be announced on November 21st, 2016 via Website, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. On November 25th, 2016 the winner of the contest will be announced. All judging will be conducted without bias by Musicians Talk Productions. The winning artist will be informed on the November 25th, 2016 and should provide written acceptance of both prize and terms and conditions by 3:00pm November 26th 2016. In the event that the selected artist does not respond by 3:00pm, the next in line will receive the prize and etc.

The winning artist will be notified by using contact details provided on entering the competition. Artists are responsible for ensuring that contact details are correct and up to date.


The winning artist must confirm acceptance of their prize via Email or Facebook message by 3:00pm November 26th, 2016 in order to retain the right to claim the prize. If contact is not received by the winning artist within the agreed time frame the next alternative winner will be selected from the finalists.

Musicians Talk Productions reserves the right to make decisions regarding the eligibility of entries and accepts no responsibilities for entries which are incomplete, late or where appropriate contact details are not supplied.


The winning artist is offered:

   – One song, one day recording in Lockwood Studios.  
    – Up to 4 hours of recording time (to be completed in one session).
   – Any editing, comping, pitch correction etc…
   – Mixing to be completed within 2-3 weeks of the tracking date. Mixing sessions will be unattended by the band, and will include up to 5 revisions
   – Mastering upon completion of the mix

Appointment times will be determined by the studio and the band once the prize is claimed.

Musicians Talk Productions and/or Lockwood Studios will not take responsibility for payment or reimbursement of travel or additional expenses incurred by the winning artist(s).


Artists agree that any video or photo footage of the event, filmed by the Musicians Talk team, remain the property of Musicians Talk along with rights of promotional use thereof.

Artists may share photos and video filmed on any outlet.


You agree to accept the date offered by the recording studio representative. If you cannot accept the date offered, an alternative date will be offered. If you cannot accept the second date offered, a third date will be offered. If you do not accept a date before December 31st, 2016 you will forfeit the opportunity of a free day in the studio.

Musicians Talk Productions and Lockwood Studios reserves the right to delay, postpone or cancel the promotion in the event of circumstances outside of reasonable control.

Musicians talk Productions or Lockwood Studios representatives will make contact with winning artists to inform them of any changes at the earliest possible time.


Artists must be able to travel to Lockwood Studios at 3200 Whipple Ave NW, Canton, OH 44718, arrive at the venue by an agreed time, and be prepared to record on one of the dates offered.

Artists are responsible for arranging their own travel and accommodation if necessary.

Artists must provide their own instruments and equipment. Musicians Talk Productions and/or Lockwood Studios will not take any responsibility for the hire, transport, construction/use or return of any equipment.

Artists should ensure that they have appropriate insurances in place as Musicians talk Productions and/or Lockwood Studios will not accept responsibility for any damage to person or property during transport or on the day itself.

Additional expenses outside of the immediately provided prize, for example food and beverages, will not be included or compensated for. Musicians Talk Productions and/or Lockwood Studios will not be held responsible for payment of overnight accommodation, deposits or return thereof, nor for any charges which are incurred during the day, for example for damage or breakages.

Uploading Songs

By submitting a song to MusiciansTalk@Yahoo.com, you the artist hereby agree that you are the sole or joint copyright right holder of the piece of music or song, including music and lyrics and consent to the song being accessible to anyone via this website and associated Musicians talk Productions social media . If you are a joint copyright holder of a song that you submit to MusicianTalk@yahoo.com; you as the artist submitting the song are declaring that you have the consent of all other copyright / IP holders of the song that you are uploading to the songwall website.

License: Artists retain all IP rights by submitting songs and/or images onto the Musicians Talk Productions contest

Judging and scoring

Judging will be based on six categories; sound, professionalism, band image, fan base interaction, dedication and social media. These categories will be voted on without bias by eight judges using only the press kits submitted. Additional points may be added to the final scores via social media voting. The judges scores carry a heavier weight than  the social media voting but will be factored in each bands final score in an equal manner.

Website Terms and Conditions

By entering this contest you hereby agree to our terms and conditions. These terms are legally binding and entering the contest you agree to be bound to this agreement whether You ‘the visitor’ or ‘browser’ without limitation through any device or otherwise are registered as user or not.

Musicians talk Productions or Lockwood Studios has the right to discontinue its service, competition section or any activity with or without notice. Musicians Talk and/or Lockwood Studios will hold no liability if the services are discontinued at any point
